A State-of-the-Art Dental Office

Digital Radiography (X-rays) and Digital Charting

Our office is a completely digital (paperless) dental office. This means all x-rays and charting are done with the aid of the computer. Digital x-rays are very large and hence easier to read. They can be enhanced to show different views to aid in diagnosis. The computer can be used to approximate measurements on the x-rays for diagnostic purposes. Digital charting standardizes the charting process in a way that is very clear and easy to understand.

With the old “paper chart” it was difficult to keep the charting standardized from doctor to hygienist to assistants. Even differences in hand writing would make the charts look different. The computer eliminates this problem in that various items are charted exactly the same every time. Furthermore, the computer uses different colors for pre-existing restorations, decay or conditions, treatment planned and treatment completed. Thus it is easy to read one chart and see current and up to date information that is updated and re-colored as treatment is performed.

Digital Photography

Digital photography helps us in diagnosis and treatment planning as well as communication with specialists and lab technicians. With e-mail, this information can be transferred quickly and easily for faster communication and enhanced treatment decisions.

Patient Education

Once again digital patient education is more descriptive and enlightening than ever before. PowerPoint programs show before and after cases as well as other informative programming. We also have specific software for demonstrating all aspects of dental care from preventive care to restorative dentistry to the effects of tooth and bone loss from losing teeth and not having them restored.

Patient Comfort (Dental Couch Potato)

This amazing piece of technology allows you to view TV while having your dental treatment completed. When it is not being used for viewing x-rays, completing the comprehensive exam, or for showing education materials, the screen is positioned directly over your head as you sit up or lie back. With wireless headphones you can catch your favorite news, sports or other TV programming while you are having your dental treatment completed.
